Ebba, Malin and Mango went for a road trip to the US. First stop was Bellingham and our old school friend Sara and her family. Playing, great dinner, oh, we also went to Emily's school science fair.

Sightseeing in Vancouver

Mango sightseeing in Vancouver. Here he is at the exhibition "Borders", Museum of Anthropology.

Every tourist to Vancouver needs their picture taken in front of the steam clock (the first in the world) in Gastown.

Look at the balconies at this cool building in Gastown - Hope, Integrity, Respect...

Mango enjoying the town.

Malin and Ebba skied in Whistler for the first time and it was a truly amazing experience. The views, the snow, the slopes...

Playing in Vancouver

Morfar/granddad brought presents from Sweden. Mango got lego from his cousins Mans and Joel. He loves it! The best was when morfar stacked them as a high tower and Mango could knock them over. The laughter is still ringing in our ears... In the background a Winnie the Pooh from morfar and Siv that reads stories and sings in Swedish while moving to the rythm. It's being played so much we already seem to know the songs.

Mango is shopping with morfar (no, he didn't get the hat but the jeans and the coolest little jeans jacket with a sunhat). Had to get him ready for spring-time...

Walking in Vancouver rain on our Cypress Street (note the gorgeous cherry trees blossoming) towards the beach.

Morfar visited Mango

Morfar (granddad) Sven visited Mango for the 3d time! A long weekend of walks, coffees, play and great restaurants.

We went to Grouse Mountain on one of those famous Vancouver days where the sun was shining in the city allowing for a stroll wearing only a thin sweater and then... snow on the mountain.

Vancouver 2010 Olympic fever

Granville Island turned into the Francophone Pavillion. Kristi, Chris, Adam and Chris on a Sunday out.

Chris, Chris and Adam with 2 (empty?) strollers on Granville Island enjoying sunshine and art installations (well, the art was a bit cryptic actually...).

We went to see cross-country at the Nordic Center outside Whistler. This was the day for 30 km men's mixed with classic and freestyle. Here is the arena with the leading skiers coming in in. A great experience - the area was beautiful and you could enjoy a beer in the sunshine while watching world class sport. Oh, and the 3 countries dominating the top 10 were... Sweden, Germany and Canada!
Sweden won gold and bronze!!!
Possibly unexpected to the iniated, totally unexpected for Malin who thought a flag would be too nationalistic to buy... So here she had to ask a Swede if she could "borrow" a corner of a flag to be part of the Swedish crowd cheering the winner on. Mango learnt "heja, heja!"...

Chris and Adam went to see Sweden beat Finland in ice hockey. Since they didn't have a Swedish flag, Chris brought along the second most Swedish attribute - Pippi Longstocking.

Reading book

Anna made this fantastic book with creative inspiration from Sandy. Mango has recently showed increased interest in reading (and eating) books. Other favourites include a book about shapes and one about animals around the world.

Canada Outfits

This is Emelie and Adam, our yoga friends.
We thought this photo would be interesting especially for you who are not living in Vancouver, today the BIG day of the Olympic Opening Ceremony. Emelie and Adam are wearing the Canada hoddies that have become so popular, maybe even a trademark for these games.

Visiting friends in Bellingham

Me (Malin) and Mango did a small roadtrip on our own down south, crossing the border to the US. We went to Bellingham where our friends from Sweden live: Sara, Emilie, Olivia and Victoria (yes, Mango is in the photo as well).

Olivia and Mango playing. Olivia is 3 months younger than Mango and it's neat to follow the two of them growing. Mango really liked her toys as well as her dog, Bella.

Olivia (cool dress! and it's reversible)

We finished the day with really tasty sushi in one of those restaurants where the sushi is circulating around and you pick the ones you want (way too many...). It was such a nice day, thanks a lot!
